Job Posting Summary The Institute of Arctic Biology (IAB) is seeking candidates for postdoctoral fellow positions to support the areas of biology, genetics, wildlife, biomedical, ecology, physiology, bioinformatics, and related areas of study to support the research and academic missions of the Institute. This will include working on one or more funded projects in these research areas under the guidance of senior faculty members. 

Major research programs at IAB include the Center for Alaska Native Health Research, Alaska Basic Neuroscience Program, Center for Molecular and Genetic Studies of Hibernation, Alaska Geobotany Center, Resilience and Adaptation Program and the Bonanza Creek Long-Term Ecological Research program. The Alaska Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, administered by IAB, began in 1950 and is part of a nationwide cooperative program to promote research and graduate student training in the ecology and management of fish, wildlife and their habitats. And the Institute's Toolik Field Station is a world-renowned Arctic climate change research station located in the northern foothills of the Brooks Range. 

The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year contingent on satisfactory performance and final approval of funds. 

**This is a pool position; successful acceptance into the pool does not guarantee an offer nor review of applicant materials.**  
Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position. Sufficient relevant experience to contribute significantly to a specific project. 

Experience with the use of computers and other appropriate equipment to conduct the research proposed.

Typical education or training required for this position (including licenses). PhD degree (already received, or having completed all requirements and waiting graduation) in a relevant discipline.
