Job Posting Summary We seek highly motivated individuals for postdoctoral positions in the Department of Biological Sciences, a premier educational department at the University of Alaska Anchorage. This postdoctoral scientist will have research expertise in microbial plant, animal or soil science with prior research experience in boreal, experimental and/or laboratory studies. We are especially interested in individuals whose perspectives include linkages between biological-physical-social systems.

Qualified applicants for this position will be placed into a hiring pool for the academic year from which postdoctoral positions will be hired.

Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of contract.  
Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position. This individual will be expected to carry out field and/or laboratory research in biological sciences. He/she would be familiar with a combination of biological sciences research techniques. Needs experience supervising undergraduate students. Explicit demonstration of journal publication experience, grantsmanship experience, professional meeting presentations, seminar or classroom teaching experience are necessary for successful candidates.  
Typical education or training required for this position (including licenses). PhD degree (already received, or having completed all requirements and waiting graduation).

Qualifying earned degrees must be conferred either by institutions of higher education which are accredited by one of the six US regional accrediting associations or by an equivalent international institution of higher education as determined by UAA based on a review by a foreign educational credential evaluation service and recognized by UAA.
