We are currently seeking a full-time Inventory Clerk for the 1st shift (6:30 am - 3:00 pm) Monday - Friday at our Jet Products facility located in Kearny Mesa.

What Does the Job Involve?

The Inventory Clerk prepares product or material and packs orders for shipment. Receives in shipments from outside suppliers including validating shipping information and unloading of trucks. Operates standard manual and automatic equipment. Packages material or product and marks with appropriate identification per specification. Inputs transactions into material resource planning system (MRP). Participates in yearly inventory coordination and on-going cycle count program.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Prepares product or material and packs orders for shipment. Operates standard manual and automatic equipment. Packages material or product and marks with appropriate identification per specification.
  • Receives product and freight shipments as needed; including validating in bound product orders, ensures in bound shipments are legitimate and unloads in bound trucks as needed.
  • Identifies material with part number, revision, and other information specified on the travelers; method of marking is rubber stamp, electro-etch, or tag according to specifications.
  • Assembles, builds, and loads cartons for shipment.
  • Compares part and shipment identification information and counts, weighs, and measures items for outgoing shipments.
  • Records shipment data, such as weight, dimensions, and quantities and inputs into MRP.
  • Affixes shipping labels on cartons identifying shipping information. Packages material or product into appropriate shipping .
  • Participates and helps coordinate yearly inventory process. This may include working with multiple departments to establish timing, process, and coordination of people to conduct inventory.
  • Works with multiple departments to coordinate and facilitate cycle counting.
  • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follows directions from a supervisor, interacts well with co-workers, understands and follows work rules and procedures, complies with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accepts constructive feedback and exhibits initiative and commitment.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve the operation.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement and Lean activities.

What Key Skills and Experience Do I Need?

  • 1-2 years of previous experience in a shipping or warehouse role, preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry experience, preferred.
  • Previous experience in material identification with rubber stamp and electro-etch, preferred.

What Qualifications Should I Have?

  • High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
