Overview
With its broad and multidisciplinary faculty expertise, the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI) is an international resource that supports basic and clinical research in environmental health sciences and exposure assessment and fosters associated programs in environmental health education and public policy.

Established in 1986, EOHSI’s major objectives are to:
Advance understanding of the mechanisms by which environmental and occupational chemical exposures impact human health.
Identify and measure human environmental and occupational exposures to chemicals. Treat populations adversely affected by chemical exposures. Develop educational tools describing relative risks of chemical exposures. Contribute to public policies related to environmental and occupational chemical risks. Offer training programs for environmental health professionals.

The Institute serves as an unbiased source of expertise about environmental problems for communities, employers and governments in all areas of occupational and environmental health, toxicology and risk assessment. EOHSI members are active as advisors to international, national, state and local organizations on public health issues.

Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow for the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI). The Psychology Post-Doc under direction will participate as a part of the mental health team for Word Trade Center (WTC) responders under the supervision of the Program Director for WTC Mental Health to insure quality of the program.

Among the duties for the position are:
  • Will perform psychological intakes, certification interviews, and case management services.
  • Conduct weekly trauma-focused individual psychotherapy; and facilitate outpatient mental health groups.
  • Administer psychological testing on-site and off-site. PFFD (Psychological Fitness for Duty) evaluations and other
  • psychological assessments will be part of this practicum experience.
  • Contribute to QA efforts.
  • Execute special projects as requested by the Program Director.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Post-doc psychology candidates who have successfully completed their doctoral internship and have met all training requirements in NJ OR NY.
  • Prior training and supervised experience in conducting individual and group psychotherapy, clinical interviewing and diagnostic assessment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word / Excel).
