POSITION TITLE: Summer Intern - Procurement

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Intern will receive closely supervised training to develop professional skills related to Procurement, Logistics, Inventory Management, Order Processing, Supply Center Organization, Data Analysis and Supply Chain Management. They will interact with business partners in the labs, Operations, and Finance. This is a temporary paid position for a maximum of 90 days and is subject to minimum wage and overtime laws. Students can work up to 40 hours a week

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Potential Projects may include but are not limited to:

    • Data Analysis
      • Analyze data and assist in developing strategies to optimize inventory management, order processing, and logistics:
        • Category Spend
        • Supplier Spend
        • Supply Metrics
      • Assist in generating reports related to inventory levels, order processing, and other supply chain metrics
      • Build and maintain dashboards
    • Inventory Management
      • Assist in monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory levels
      • Help maintain accurate documentation of inventory movements, transactions, and stock adjustments
      • Collaborate with the team to assist in the layout optimization of the stockroom for improved accessibility and efficiency
      • Work with the team to implement improvements in the physical organization of the stockroom
    • Supply Center support
      • Communication and outreach to labs
        • Supplier Showcases
        • Flyers
        • Marketing
        • Surveys
      • Involvement with sourcing, negotiations and contracting
      • Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, resolving any issues or discrepancies that arise
    • Supply Center Optimization
      • Support the vendor selection and evaluation process, including conducting research, gathering data, and analyzing supplier performance
      • Support cross-functional teams by providing timely and accurate information related to supply center operations
      • Collaborate with colleagues and suppliers to identify process improvements and contribute to enhancing overall supply chain efficiency

COMPENSATION:

The expected hiring range for this position is $16.85 to $19.85 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be currently enrolled in high school, an associate's program, a bachelors program or masters program.
  • Job will be on-site at The Scripps Research Institute
