Yoh is hiring a Field Applications Scientist (Biosciences) for our Pharmaceutical Client based in San Francisco. This person will work in close collaboration with business development managers and pharmaceutical customers to identify, demonstrate and pursue product and service solutions. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and independent scientist that can provide high level application support for their customers in the pharmaceutical industry and provide advanced technical input to the sales process, for both instrumentation and contract services.

ENVIRONMENT AND HOURS:

This is a field-based position, located in the San Francisco Bay Area, requiring frequent travel throughout the territory, but also throughout the US, as required. Contractual hours 37.5 per week. This role is exempt from the rules of the flexi-time scheme. Overtime unpaid. position requires ~50% overnight travel throughout the US, as necessary.



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Entry Qualifications

• Minimum: Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as protein biochemistry, drug delivery, biotechnology or biopharmaceuticals.
• Direct experience in the biopharmaceutical / biotechnology industry sector.
• A valid US driving licence is a pre-requisite of this role.

• A minimum of 2 years' practical experience in industry or as a post doctorate will be appropriate

• In-depth knowledge of the workflow and pipeline development of biopharmaceutical / biotechnology products.
• A proven ability at problem solving. Excellent communication skills coupled with an ability to instil confidence in the receiver.
• Good listening skills and the ability to translate what a customer says into what he needs. A requirement to be computer literate with Microsoft Office software.
• A proven ability to coherently write and present scientific papers as well as being able render complex subjects into a form acceptable to less skilled people.
