Wellesley Centers for Women

We are seeking a full-time (35 hours per week) Postdoctoral Research Associate for two years to work on several different projects relating to depression prevention in families and youth, in conjunction with Dr. Tracy Gladstone at the Wellesley Centers for Women at Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA. The majority of this position will involve work on a large-scale comparative effectiveness randomized clinical trial funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). This study will compare the effectiveness of two prevention interventions – a primary care, Internet-based depression prevention program and a face-to-face group CBP program – at preventing onset of depressive episodes and improving other patient centered outcomes. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also work on a large-scale, school-based screening/intervention initiative aimed to address the problem of youth depression and suicidal behavior. This project will involve conducting clinical interviews with middle and high school students.

The opportunity to manage various other projects and to pursue individual research interests consistent with depression prevention and intervention will be made available. Applicants should come to the position with their own unique research questions and the desire to use available study data to answer those questions. This position is designed for a recent graduate of an accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology or social work.

We are hoping to fill this position by June 2019 so we are accepting applications beginning immediately.

Skills Required:
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet strict task and project deadlines
• Solid written and oral communication skills and ability to work with various professionals including team social workers and school staff
• Demonstrated ability to work well independently and also as part of a team
• Clinical training and experience administering structured clinical interviews to both children and adults such as the Structured Clinical Interview of DSM-IV or 5 Disorders (SCID), the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview for Children and Adolescent (MINI Kid), and the Kiddie Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia (K-SADS)
• Strong research and data analysis skills using SPSS

• Recent Ph.D. in clinical psychology, social work, or a related field
• Training and/or experience with adolescents and adults and with individuals experiencing symptoms of depression
• Three to five years of experience with grant writing, research writing, and project management
• Individual research interests consistent with depression intervention
• An interest in collaborating with Dr. Tracy Gladstone on new projects
