An immediate opening is available for a postdoctoral research associate position at the Nuclear Reactor Program (NRP) of North Carolina State University (NCSU). The selected candidate is expected to perform independent research and support external research and utilization activities in the area of positron annihilation spectroscopy (PAS) including lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) and Doppler broadening spectroscopy (DBS).
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., Sc.D.) in appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment. Experience with setting up and utilizing radiation detection instrumentation, coincidence counting, and spectroscopy equipment is required, in addition to experience with processing, and interpreting PALS and DBS measurement data.
