Contributes to our efforts in developing highly-predictive in vitro toxicity assessment platforms that are needed to rapidly advance therapeutic drug candidates to preclinical evaluation and to prioritize potential environmental toxicants. Works toward establishing a suite of high-content imaging assays on a 384-pillar plate platform to detect critical changes in organoid/tissue morphology in 3D, cell functions, molecular actions on cell surface receptors, and the mechanisms of toxicity. Interacts professionally with all internal and external collaborators and graduate students using strong interpersonal skills.


Minimum Qualifications

Must hold a PhD degree in biomedical engineering, molecular biology, or related areas. Must have a strong background and hands-on experience in one or more of these areas: stem cell biology, 3D cell culture, immunofluorescence assays, molecular biology techniques including recombinant lentivirus construction and amplification, and high-throughput drug screening. Must be highly motivated in interdisciplinary research. Will participate in a NIH-funded research project.


Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in 3D cell culture with stem cells (e.g., organoid culture), immunofluorescence assays, and molecular biology techniques.
