Position Summary
The Writing Skills Development Program seeks a qualified candidate for a 1-2 year postdoctoral research associate. The primary goal of this position is to assist this individual in laying the research foundations for becoming an independent scientist in intervention research in education. We seek an applicant with strong technical and methodological skills with an interest in research in Education. The post-doc will pursue independent research with mentorship from Drs. Stephen Hooper and Lara Costa, as well as grant preparation and manuscripts for publication in the broad area of children’s writing. The incumbent will also work with the research team on their Institute of Education Sciences research projects to learn and execute the practice-based professional development model while gaining experience in project development and management, grant writing, data analysis, and dissemination.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Qualified candidates will have completed a doctoral degree in education or related field.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Effective verbal and written communication skills that are required to accomplish tasks associated with this position.
Excellent interpersonal skills with professionals and research team members.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with interests/experiences in interventional science, particularly in the schools, middle school teaching experience, and/or expertise in professional development techniques.
