Essential Job Duties

The Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at North Carolina State University invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral research associate to work with Dr. Lirong Xiang in the area of automation and robotics in agricultural applications. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of extension.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to carry out research projects, write high-quality manuscripts, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, coordinate research and extension teams, and participate in grant writing.

Work Schedule

Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm

Department Required Skills

The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. or met all Ph.D. requirements in Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other closely related disciplines.
The ideal candidate must have a strong track record in at least one of the following areas: Robotic control and manipulation, mechanical design, electrical design, computer vision, and/or machine learning.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

Strong programming skills and oral and written communication skills are desired.
